Five Great Dive replica watches From Tudor, Replica Rolex, IWC, Longines, And LeCoultre

It's hard to argue with a good vintage dive watch. They just look good, are typically rather durable, and they just might be the first thing you think of when you think of a wristwatch. Today we are bringing you five great dive watches, all of which I wouldn't mind having: a Tudor Submariner from a US Navy frogman, a solid yellow gold Replica Rolex Submariner, an original IWC Aquatimer, a Longines reference 7042-1 that served as inspiration for the modern Legend Diver, and a tropical LeCoultre Deep Sea Alarm.

Tudor Submariner reference 94010

Tudor snowflake Submariners have been on a tear recently, and for good reason. Especially interesting are those Tudors with military history. This one is an interesting piece with a bit of associated US military history. The caseback engraving suggests it was formerly owned by a member of the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT), in which members were famously called "frogmen." The UDT was disbanded in 1983 and members were absorbed into the SEALs after additional training.

This is one cool fake watch and is being offered by Fourtané for $13,500.

Rolex Submariner reference 1680 in Yellow Gold

The Sub is, of course, the quintessential dive watch, but it is not so common to see the reference 1680 in yellow gold with the (in)famous "nipple dial" (named after the circular indices), and even rarer to see in unpolished, original condition. Andrew Shear is offering a fantastic one from circa 1978 for $25,500.

IWC Aquatimer reference 812 circa 1974

The earliest IWC Aquatimers are truly, uncommon, underappreciated, and until Talking replica watches with Alfredo Paramico, mostly under-the-radar watches. They launched the extensive Aquatimer line for IWC and remain as stylish today as they were when they were introduced. It is hard to beat the looks of a supercompressor diving watch. These are circa 37.5-38mm in diameter.

This one appears like the hands may have possibly been re-lumed, otherwise it looks incredible and includes the original bracelet. It was originally sold in 1974. One difference between this one and Alfredo's is the applied IWC on this dial that is lacking on Alfredo's. I have read that post-1970 Aquatimers had the applied IWC. It is being offered on chrono24.com from a private seller for $12,587.

Longines reference 7042-1

Speaking of supercompressor watches, this Longines reference 7042-1 is one of the earliest supercompressors and was introduced around 1961. I love the thick lugs on these early compressors. In addition, I really like the patina and originality of this one. It was offered at auction a couple weeks ago, but did not end up selling.

Watches of Knightsbridge has now listed it for $5,091 here.

LeCoultre Deep Sea Alarm reference E 857

Jaeger-LeCoultre's first stab at a dive fake watch was the Deep Sea Alarm, originally issued in 1959 in a version made for Europe (branded Jaeger-LeCoultre) and a version made for America (branded LeCoultre). These replica watches used the automatic alarm movement (caliber 815) developed by JLC in 1956. The LeCoultre is perhaps the more interesting of the two aesthetically and remains a very difficult fake watch to find in good condition.

Matt Bain is offering up a beautiful one that has seen the outer dial turn tropical (or brown). Interestingly, the bracelet looks like the original DSA bracelet, but it is actually signed Longines. Nevertheless, this is one serious watch.

It is available for $45,000 from Matthew Bain.
